FROM PENN STATE TO STATE PENN!!!

What the hell happened to Penn State this weekend? After being off to an 8 and 1 start this season, it's looking like their personnel has taken quite a sack!
For those of you living in the dark, just hours after stepping down, two high-ranking Penn State administrators are facing arraignment on charges that they committed perjury on the grand jury investigating former defense coordinator, Jerry Sandusky, as they failed to properly report the suspected child abuse case that has left fans reeling.

Late Sunday, after an emergency meeting with the Board of Trustees, Penn State President Graham Spanier announced that Athletic Director Tim Curley and Gary Schultz, the school's senior vice president for business and finance, would be leaving their posts.
Former Coach Sandusky was arrested Saturday afternoon on charges that he sexually abused boys that he met through The Second Mile Foundation, a charity that he founded for at-risk youths. The charity released a statement on Sunday that Sandusky has had no involvement with The Second Mile programs since 2008, which is when Sandusky told the foundation that he was being investigated on child-sex allegations, a case that would rock the well-known State College, a campus town routinely ranked among America's best places to live and is actually nicknamed, Happy Valley.

Under head football coach Joe Paterno or Joe Pa, as many like to call him , who testified before the grand jury and isn't considered a suspect in this case, the team is usually revered both for winning games, including two national championships, and largely steering clear of trouble. Joe Pa probably adhered to the letter of the law when he told the school’s athletic director, but not the police, that former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky allegedly sexually abused a boy in the Nittany Lions’ locker room back in 2002. Though, Joe Pa never reported this to the police, attorneys familiar with child abuse statutes say that while the venerable college coach may not face criminal charges, he is hardly an innocent bystander.

Back in 2002, according to a grand jury report, current Penn State wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator Mike McQueary told Joe Pa that he saw Sandusky having anal intercourse with a boy in a campus locker room shower. Paterno immediately told Athletic Director, Curley about the allegation. According to Pennsylvania state law, it is required that anyone who comes into contact with children in the course of their employment to report evidence of abuse to “appropriate authorities.” Failure to do so is a third-degree misdemeanor. The statute specifically lists teachers, nurses, doctors and child-care workers, among others, as those required to notify authorities when they suspect children in their care have been molested.

In another report that I read, Joe Pa stated that if all this is true, Sandusky had him "fooled". How did he have him fooled if he actually knew about the show molesting? I'm not sure if Joe Pa is totally innocent in this, but in any case, the whole child molesting situation is just gross, and Sandusky should definitely get what he deserves. As for Penn State's football team, they shouldn't allow these allegations to ruin their football season. Then again, it's off-the-field BS like this that ruins everything. The rest of this week should be pretty interesting up in Happy Valley!
