SHOCK COLLAR FOR KIDS

This story is totally not funny, but I can't stop laughing about it because I can't believe that someone actually had the balls to do this to a child. Well, a teenager to be exact! It turns out; a couple from Georgia forced their 15-year-old adopted daughter to wear a shock collar around her neck and often kept her in a chicken coop. Come on! How is that not hilarious?

Tuesday, investigators found the shock collar in the Butler, Georgia home of Diana and Samuel Franklin and arrested the couple immediately. The 15-year-old told Georgia Bureau of Investigation agents that her parents shocked her with the collar several times using a remote control. According to the teenager, there were a series of fairly severe punishments for various things that the child allegedly did like not doing her homework or taking food when she wasn't supposed to.

The shock collar, which is usually used for dogs, has been sent for DNA testing and matches the description the child gave to the agents. Diana Franklin faces 12 counts of cruelty to children and eight counts of false imprisonment, while her husband is facing eight counts of cruelty to children and eight counts of false imprisonment. The investigation on the Franklins began in May when authorities received information that the girl was being mistreated. Neighbors have seen the girl working in the gardens, digging ditches in the hot sun, and toting rocks up a road, and claiming that the girl was in some bad shape.

Another neighbor said that Diana Franklin was heard telling the girl that she was 'doing what the Bible says' while disciplining her adoptive daughter. The same neighbor said that Franklin would also feed the girl only bread and water, as punishment, for days! Is this for real? That part isn't funny, but the dog collar thing is hilarious! The girl has been in temporary custody of Department of Family and Child Services for several weeks. I'm sure a made-for-TV movie will follow. Let me get just set the record straight! I don't condone this type of treatment on kids, though some kids might deserve it! The thing that I find comedic is the fact that this couple actually had the balls to do this to a child and actually thought they could get away with it! I'm dying to hear what you guys think!
