IS THIS AN H.R. ISSUE?

I can't believe this! Another story about Magic Mushrooms! That makes two stories about them within a week and I thought this natural hallucinogen was a thing of the past. Apparently, I was wrong! It turns out; a West Village restaurateur tricked one of his waitresses into eating this off-the-menu item. This is Sofie Rasmussen and according to court papers, she's claiming that Paul Abrahamian, an owner of Sticky's Finger Joint in the West Village, NYC, tricked her into eating the magic mushrooms by telling her it was a new recipe that he wanted her to try. Sure he did! That's what I would tell someone if I wanted to trick them into eating mushrooms covered in cow dung.

Apparently, in late 2012, Abrahamian, whose Eighth Street chicken eatery was featured on Bobby Flay's "3 Days to Open" show, took Rasmussen, who was 19-years-old at the time, to the kitchen and had her shut her eyes to taste the dish in front of the whole staff. She remembers expecting chicken and instead got a handful of hallucinogenic mushrooms shoved in her mouth, where he then proceeded to slap his hand over her mouth to prevent her from spitting them out. Rasmussen remembered disliking the taste and thinking, "What the f&%k is this?" Then once the taste of cow dung hit her pallet, she realized what was just shoved in her mouth. She also remembers feeling weird like she was floating, not socializing with customers, but also acting goofy. Um, honey, you were tripping face!

Rasmussen went to see her boyfriend later that night and told him what happened. Needless to say, he was not happy about the situation, but she claims that she kept mum in fear of losing her job at the eatery because Abrahamian had already threatened to fire her if she told anyone. Rasmussen quit back in December after three months on the job and has since filed a lawsuit against the eatery. Obviously, Abrahamian is denying that the claims are true. Personally, I would be thanking Abrahamian for the free mushrooms.....I mean; my friend who likes mushrooms would be thanking him! I mean seriously! This girl was not put into the hospital, nor was she harmed in anyway. The only crime here is that she didn't pay for them! Other than that, I'm sure she had the time of her life that night! Man, what I would give to be 19 again! Why do these kids feel they need to tell or report everything? Is this the age we live in? It's a DYFS type of world out there!
