In
another case of "why am I always the last one to find out about these
things?” earlier this month, I read this story about a Zumba instructor in
Maine, who apparently used her dance studio as a brothel and banged her clients
for money. That's right! Alexis Wright, 29, of Wells, Maine was charged last
month with engaging in prostitution in her dance studio and in an office she
rented across the street. According to police, Miss Wright kept meticulous
records suggesting that the sex acts generated $150,000 over the 18 months.
She's pleaded not guilty to 106 counts of prostitution, invasion of privacy and
other charges. What? 106 counts? Wow! Her business partner, a 57-year-old
insurance agent and private investigator, Mark Strong Sr., from Thomaston,
Maine, has pleaded not guilty to 59 misdemeanor charges.
According
to police, more than 150 people are suspected of being clients and many of them
were videotaped without their knowledge. (Kind of like Hulk Hogan!) A judge
recently ordered the release of names without ages or addresses to protect
those who might have been secretly recorded, so their occupations and roles in
the community, if any, couldn't be immediately determined. This only means that
there could be cops, doctors, lawyers, mayors, or judges on that list. I love
it! Everyone is dirty!
The
prostitution charges came as a shock to the small town of Kennebunk, Maine,
whose population only reaches 10,000 residents, and is well-known for its ocean
beaches, old sea captains' mansions and the neighboring town of Kennebunkport,
home to the Bush family's Walker's Point summer compound. The list of names was
supposed to be released last Friday, but was delayed by legal action of an
attorney representing two of the people accused of being clients. The lawyer
claimed that releasing the names will ruin people's lives even if they're
acquitted of the misdemeanor charges against them.
On
Monday, a Superior Court Justice denied the motion seeking to block disclosure
of the names. I agree! Too bad! Let these guys suffer! Some residents said that
they had their suspicions about Wright, while others had no idea about the
bubbly dance instructor who introduced many local women to the Latin-flavored
dance and fitness program. One of Wright's students claimed that she had no
inkling of an illegal activity.
I
think this is hilarious and kudos to Wright for hiding this for so long! As for
the men who paid for her services, if you paid, you should pay! Especially, if they
were married with children! You shouldn't be acting this way anyway. If some of
these guys held high offices in the town, all I have to say is, "Oh well!
You should've been more careful!" You'll get no sympathy from me! And by
the way, has anyone taken a look at Miss Wright? She looks like a pig! If
you're going to pay for sex, wouldn't you want her to look more like a
supermodel? I guess when you're desperate, you'll pay for anything!
