First
off, congrats to the Baltimore Ravens for not losing composure after that power
outage last night during the Super Bowl. For about 5-minutes there, I thought
that the 49ers were coming back to win that thing last night! So, congrats,
Ravens! Anyway, a California pre-school is supposedly closing its doors after
some really disturbing allegations of sexual activity among several 4 and
5-year-old students emerged. That's right! I said 4 and 5-year-olds!
Oh....My....God! What are we teaching our kids? I thought they were supposed to
be our future?
The
First Lutheran Church of Carson School is shutting down mid-semester because
two reports that two boys received oral sex from a 5-year-old girl on school
grounds. Greg Owen, the attorney representing some of the children's families,
said that the sexual activities took place during nap time, at a school
playground, and at an outside bathroom. Owen claims that it boils down to the
lack of supervision, "There were times when teachers would let aides in
the room for hours at a time to watch the kids. During nap time, the aides
would be sleeping, and the children would have been molesting each other during
this time." Really? So, it's the aides fault? It has nothing to do with
what the kids are taught at home at all? Is this guy for real?
Owen
is representing several parents who are planning to file a lawsuit against the
Carson, California school, which has allegedly been cited by the California
Department of Social Services for "at least one sexual incident that
involved young students." According to school officials, the decision to
close comes after the school director resigned due to personal reasons and has
nothing to do with the allegations. Yeah, right! Who are they fooling? He
couldn't be replaced when he resigned? Seriously? One parent said that his son
received oral sex from the young girl on multiple occasions and his son told
him that it happened in the classroom, in the bathroom, and on the playground.
At least one other boy allegedly received oral sex from the same girl. I have
to admit, as I read this story, I couldn't stop thinking, "Where was this
girl when I was 4?" Is that wrong? Only kidding!
Parents
of the boys are struggling to find new schools for their kids elsewhere. One of
the boy's fathers said that there's no way he can just take him to another
school and be that parent that just lets a predator loose. I still don't
understand why the school is getting the blame for all of this and why the
parent's aren't taking responsibility at all? When I was 5-years-old, I didn't
even know what sex was! In fact, I still don't! Okay, I do now, but the bottom
line is that at that age, you learned it from somewhere, which tells me that
these kids learned about sex from home. They definitely did not learn about it
in school. Think about it! These parents should be ashamed of themselves and
not the school. Should the teacher's aides have stopped it? Of course, but they
didn't teach them to do it. That little girl learned it from watching her mom
do it to daddy or from watching daddy get it from someone else. Trust me, she
didn't learn it in school and this attorney should be ashamed of himself for
thinking that the school is at fault!
