WATCHING HORROR MOVIES = WEIGHT LOSS

I still can't believe the devastation left behind by Hurricane Sandy. Throughout the day yesterday, I stayed online to see more and more photos that just blew my mind. Many of my friends and family are still without power, Governor Christie has postponed Halloween this year, and Disney just bought Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion in cash and stock shares. WHAT? Disney Execs are threatening to release the next trilogy in the Star Wars Saga in 2015 beginning with Episode VII with Episode VIII and IX to follow every two or three years following. I'm not sure how I feel about this yet. What will George Lucas's role be in creating the next trilogy, if he even has one at all? God, I hope Disney doesn't ruin this for Star Wars fans!

Anyway, Star Wars and Hurricane Sandy wasn't what I wanted to write about today. I figured that since it was technically Halloween, though for some us it's been postponed, I thought you might like to know about this little interesting study commissioned by LOVEFiLM.com. It turns out; watching adrenaline-pumping horror films can actually burn up calories and help you lose weight! Well, that's as long as you don't scoff down handfuls of buttered popcorn while you're watching. Researchers from the University of Westminster in the UK had subjects watch a variety of horror films while taking monitoring their heart rates, oxygen intake, carbon dioxide output, and calories burned. According to one researcher, "Each of the ten films tested set pulse rates racing, sparking and increase in the heart rate of the case studies." He added, "As the pulse quickens and blood pumps around the body faster, the body experiences a surge in adrenaline. It is this release of fast acting adrenaline, produced during short bursts of intense stress (or fear), which is known to lower the appetite, increase the Basal Metabolic Rate and ultimately burn a higher level of calories." There you have it! The horror movie diet! Who needs the gym? Just get on Netflix!

Below are the top 10 calorie-burning horror movies. Rent them tonight, lose some weight, and have a Happy Halloween!

1)The Shining - 184 calories
2) Jaws - 161 calories
3) The Excorcist - 158 calories
4) Alien - 152 calories
5) Saw - 133 calories
6) A Nightmare on Elm Street - 118 calories
7) Paranormal Activity - 111 calories
8) The Blair Witch Project - 105 calories
9) The Texas Chain Saw Massacre - 107 calories

MARATHON SEX HELPS OBESITY.....SO SHE SAYS!

I literally threw up in my mouth when I read this story, so I figured why not share the wealth with all of you? Let's see how you feel after reading this blog. That's if you can make it through the whole thing! Anyway, the heaviest woman in the world, 600-pound Pauline Potter, is using a pretty unusual method to shed some of that weight. She is using sex! Yup! How does that breakfast taste right about now?

In a recent interview, Potter revealed that she sweats off loads of calories during these sex marathons that she likes to call "Sexercise". Are you even still reading this? 47-year-old, Potter became the Guinness World Record holder for the heaviest woman last year when she weighed in at 700 pounds. She managed to lose close to 100 pounds in the last year by rekindling her romance with her ex-hubby, Alex, whom she was married to for three years. The couple split up in 2008, but has been reunited ever since Alex heard about Pauline's Guinness title last year. It didn't take long for the couple to reignite that old flame and jump back into the sack together again.....and again......and again. Here's where I get confused! Was she on top? The whole visual of this happening is kind of comedic for me, but why am I even thinking about it? I just got myself sick again!

Potter told the interviewer that she hadn't had sex in three years, but the first time they saw each other again, they did it six times! She continued to say that now they make love between two to seven times per day. Potter also admitted that Alex had to take charge since she really wasn't that mobile, but he was pretty attentive. Is anyone else getting this visual of a little guy climbing this big mountain? Potter also said that their rekindled relationship has been a long distance one at the moment because she lives in California while he lives in Arizona, but he makes extended trips to see her, so that they can continue their marathon romp sessions.

Another thing that Potter admitted that kind of grossed me out was that she can't move much in bed, but she burns 500 calories a session, her bed is strengthened, and although she can't buy sexy lingerie to wear for Alex, she drapes a nice sheet over herself. I do feel bad for Miss Potter, but come on! Potter has helped speed up her weight loss by exercising in the pool three to five times a week, and she's cut out most of the junk food in her diet. She said that she just wanted to share her story to satisfy some curiosity she's encountered. What was that? If she can still have sex at her size?

Alex said that it's hard to position Pauline and find her pleasure spots 'as she has a lot of fat in the pelvic area', but it kind of turned him on knowing she's satisfied. He also admitted that one time he let her get on top, but quickly realized that was a big mistake because he couldn't breathe. Way to go, brain surgeon! Potter blames much of her weight gain on her divorce from Alex back in 2008 as she began to binge eat out of depression.

Pauline and Alex plan on keeping their relationship and her weight loss going for the long haul as they plan to tie the knot again sometime in the future. Okay, I think I'm out to be sick again. Seriously, there are so many jokes here, but the bottom line is whatever it takes to make you healthy again, you might as well do it! As for Alex, he really takes 'hogging' to a whole new level!

JABBA THE HUT CRIES FOR HELP ON YOUTUBE!

I know that I just made fun of this guy in my title, but to be honest, after watching his YouTube video, I felt really sorry for him. I can't stop thinking to myself, though, how does one let themselves get that big? Is there some sort of disease that won't let you control your eating habits? I guess I just don't understand since I, personally, have a super fast metabolism and can pretty much eat large amounts of anything without putting on any weight. Then again, that could be an Asian thing.

Anyway, Robert Gibbs, who recently turned 23, felt hopeless with nowhere else left to turn, so the 600-plus pounds man pleaded for help using YouTube, and his prayers might have been answered! Gibbs, who also suffers from diabetes and cannot stand for more than just a few minutes at a time because his body is covered in sores. He currently lives in Livemore, California with his mom, sister, nephew, and niece.

In his YouTube video, Gibbs explained that he's fought repeatedly to lose the weight without any success. My guess is that the 30 soft tacos from Taco Bell and washing them down with Diet Pepsi wasn't working. Sorry, I had to! Anyway, in his video, Gibbs stated that he's tried to lose weight on his own, trying everything possible from diets, being hospitalized, and claims that he'd always done what needed to be done at the time, but he'd gain the weight right back. Creating a YouTube video was his last ditch effort to find help, as he stated, "I'm making this video to try and get it to go viral."

His clever gimmick may have worked! In just one day, the video racked up 200,000 views, and got the attention of the "Dr. Phil Show", who's already reached out to Gibbs and offered to connect him to weight loss guru and transformation specialist, Chris Powell. When Gibbs was told this news, he said, "I would love his help, he works miracles! I'm getting the exposure I needed. I better start getting ready for the tornado that's about to become my life. I guess it is a good birthday for me!" Well, ask and you shall receive, buddy!

Since the video went live a few days ago, it's scored nearly a million views and 20,000 likes. The positive response to his video has given Gibbs a renewed desire to get healthy for his family and his future. I think this is an amazing story! Not to mention, it's a Social Media Marketer's wettest dream to see something go viral like this. It is absolutely insane how Social Media can really get your results as long as you hit upon a topic that people will talk about. I'm happy that Robert Gibbs is getting the help he needs and I hope he posts video of his progress because I, personally, would love to see the end result! By the way, if Robert Gibbs reads this, sorry for the Jabba The Hut name in my title. There's nothing, but tough love here!
