Today,
we tend to communicate more often through text messaging. No one uses a phone
to talk anymore! Noting is personal anymore. In fact, I've heard of couples
communicating across a dinner table at a restaurant through text. I've heard of
break-ups via text message. This is a first, though! I restaurant owner in
Florida recently had to close up his business and fire all of his employees,
but he did it via text message! Now, that is a pretty classy guy if you ask me.
This guy shows great leadership qualities and I am shocked that his business
failed! Obviously, I am being extremely sarcastic.
Jodi
Jackson, who spent two years working at Barducci's Italian Bistro in Winter
Park, Florida, told a local news crew, "I think it's immoral and it's
cowardice." The Winter Park eatery's owner, George Kennedy, gave no notice
when he sent the Fourth of July surprise text letting more than 12 employees
that they were fired and the closure of the restaurant. They still have not
been paid their final checks, according to Jackson. Kennedy's text message to
Jackson read: "Jodi, I unfortunately need to inform you that I have been
forced to close Barducci's effective immediately." When the local TV
station tried to reach out to Kennedy for a comment, he responded with another
text message deflecting the blame saying: "Unfortunately businesses are
forced to close across Orlando every day especially in the restaurant sector. I
am working to resolve issues including final paychecks as quickly as possible."
This guy sounds like a piece of you know what if you ask me.
Jackson,
who is heartbroken over this whole ordeal and was the cook at Barducci's, says
that she just wants to be paid from the money he's already made from them. By
the way, employees are not the only ones left in the cold without cash.
Customers were also left in the lurch when they learned Groupon deals they
purchase online for the restaurant would no longer be honored since the
restaurant is now defunct. According to Groupon, though, all money will be
refunded to customers who bought the deal as long as they contact
Groupon.
Like
I said earlier, this guy is a spineless piece of crap. Anyone who doesn't have
the balls to come out and say something and has to hide behind his cell phone
to do his dirty work is nothing but a p**sy! Excuse my French! He's the type of
guy who will pick a fight with someone on Facebook or through text message, but
will be nice to your face. He's absolutely spineless and tactless. If you know
your company is failing, you let you employees know what is going on, so they
can make plans to start looking for other work. You don't just close up shop
and fire them. Their lives are affected too, you piece of s**t! Sorry. My point
is, you just don't close up shop and fire people! You need to give them time
and prepare them for the worst. Some people just have no tact!
