This
survey cracked me up so I had to share it. So, according to a Men's Health
magazine survey, when it comes to the sexcapades of men around the world,
Croatians have the most partners in their lifetimes, Indian men have the least
and think their women are faking it, and British men and women are most likely
to act out 50 Shades of Grey.
You
read correctly! The survey found that Indian men have sex less than once a week
on the average. This was the lowest rate among the 30 participating countries.
How is this possible? Isn't India the country that developed the Karma Sutra?
And next to Chinese people, I thought that India had the second highest
population. If these are true, then how is it possible that these men get laid the
least? The survey also boasts that half of the Indian males surveyed (48%) said
that they believe their partners often fake orgasm, and the average man has had
just three bedroom companions. Doesn't the phrase “harem" come from India?
What the hell happened to the Indian culture?
Meanwhile,
men in Croatia reported having an average of 11 partners each, making them the
most promiscuous guys on the planet. 11 partners? That's all? According to the
survey, Croatians are more likely than males from other countries to get their
groove on in parks, fields, pools and cars. British men and women, on the other
hand, were said to be the kinkiest based on the survey. British ladies had an
average of nine partners each. I wonder what that number is here in America. Some
women here have casual sex like they breathe air.
One
other thing the survey taught us was that men around the world might want to
learn a thing or two from our Dutch brethren because the Netherlands was the
only country where women said they were happy with the amount of foreplay that
was offered. Is it possible that was the weed or the magic mushrooms talking?
Or are the men really that good? Nearly 50,800 people around the world
participated in the survey.
Men's
Health India's
managing editor says that Indians may live in noisy "joint homes,"
which prevents them from having sex as often as they'd like because of the lack
of privacy. He said that having an extramarital affair is incredibly taboo in
India. He also went on to link between the apparent sexual frustration among
men and India's epidemic of rape and violence against women. Ranjana Kumari of
the Center of Social Research challenges these notions, however. She pointed
out that 95% of people are in arranged marriages, and half of them are wed by
the time they turn 18. There's still such a thing as arranged marriage? It's
2013 right? Kumari continued, "Sexual access is very much there for men. I
wouldn't want to generalize that India is a frustrated sexual culture. Rape
isn't about sex but about men who think they can control women and instill fear
in them." Say what you want, lady! I am still finding it hard to believe
that the creators of the Karma Sutra are not getting laid. Am I wrong here?
