UH-OH, GUYS! THERE'S AN APP FOR THAT NOW!

Don't you wish when you started dating that you had a friend that can tell you more about the guy or girl that you just started dating? This way you can decide whether you want to continue dating them or not. I guess it would be something like a background check at when you’re vying for a job. Well, we can all relax now because there is now an app for that! Well, there's an app for the ladies anyway.

It's called Lulu! It's an app where women post anonymous reviews rating past hookups and ex-boyfriends. That's right! Gossip ranges from flattering to he does dishes, loves his family and has a six-pack to other scathing criticisms. So, my shady brethren, consider yourselves warned. Alison Schwartz, Lulu co-founder, says, "Girls love to share. They love to have information, to be in the know. They love to have their experiences validated by other friends."

Schwartz and her partner Alexandra Chong came up with the idea for Lulu after a girls' brunch resulting in over sharing about their jobs, dermatologist appointments, and eventually, guys. Schwartz says, "There's a lot of value in girl talk. The second you put a guy in the mix, the candor completely changes. We realized there's something so powerful here." The app, which is exclusive to women only, was launched in January and has consistently been among the top 20 in the iTunes app store. More than 1.5 million reviews and 15 million profile views have been logged.

Reviews of these men assess a man's humor, appearance, manners, ambition and commitment. All of which are rated on a scale from 1 to 10. The app works by syncing the users' Facebook accounts to scan friends and see which men have been rated. Women can browse reviews or write their own by identifying their relationship with the person, from crush to ex-boyfriend. It's supposedly way easier than using Yelp. While most of the men on this want their review removed and can opt out my contacting Lulu, most of the reaction to the app seems less focused on the guy-bashing and more focused on the absurdity of it all. One Twitter user slammed the app by saying, "It's definitely a reminder that girls can be real petty." You think? The whole entire time that I wrote this blog, I kept on thinking of ways to come up with a male version of this app and call it "Herlu", where we, too, can rate exes or crushes by their personalities, sense of humor, brain power, but I would also add a rating scale for boobs, butts, and easiness of the score. That app would be awesome for us guys! Why not? Why do girls get to have all the fun? It's not a sexist thing at all, right?

DRIVING IN THE DIRTY JERZ

Many of you would think that I have no business talking about the way people drive since I live with a stereotype that Asian people are bad drivers, but as I drive down here in lovely South Jersey, I've discovered that there are plenty of bad drivers down here and guess what? They're not Asian! The problem is that people down here aren't mindful of others down here nor do they follow the NJ driving laws. It's ridiculous how the people drive in this state. Sometimes when I'm late for something, I tend to tailgate until a lane opens to two lanes, then I will pass them thinking that an old person is in front of me, but then as I pass them, it's a young kid! Are you kidding me? If you're that scared to be behind the wheel then you have no business being behind it. When I first got my license, I was a speed demon and pretty reckless as some of my high school chums can tell you.

Another thing that pisses me off is when you might've pulled out too far on accident causing another driver to slam on his breaks, but instead of stopping and then going, they'll sit there and stare you down. What the hell is that going to do other than piss me off? Just last week, I accidentally pulled out too far at an intersection and some guy saw me at the last second because I'm sure he was texting and driving and then he slams on the breaks just to curse me out. Really? Did our cars hit? Then why are you stopping and yelling? I was about to get out of the car and slap this little bitch of a man around, but I took the higher ground and just waved him a long. There was no reason to just stop in the middle of the road to yell at someone when there was no damage done. It's just plain stupid!

Oh, and there's the drivers who think they're doing everything right on the road and when they do something wrong, they blame you! What the hell? Only yesterday, which is actually the reason behind this buzzkill rant; I was a car length behind this guy in his Audi. I was following the 2-second rule and everything. Mind you, I was on a highway with restaurants on it and this guy apparently wanted to make a right into the parking lot. He must've thought I was too close, which I wasn't, and he slammed on his breaks in the middle of the highway and then signals right. Now, if I wasn't following the 2-second rule, I might've slammed right into him, but there was a lot of room. As I was passing him, I noticed him cursing me out as I drove by. What the hell did I do wrong? Just another case of bad drivers here in South Jersey!

And don't get me started on the whole texting and driving thing! You have no idea how many accidents I had to avoid because the other driver was texting and driving! In Massachusetts, you can be heavily fined for texting while driving now. That's something that should be incorporated in all states if you ask me. Anyway, I know most of you like the news stories, but today, I needed to get something off my chest and that was originally what this blog was for! Do I think the driving down here will get any better? Hell no! But maybe the state should incorporate a 5-year retesting clause, this way we can weed out the bad drivers!

HAIRY STOCKINGS? REALLY?????

Some of you might have read about this yesterday as I saw it all over Facebook. I was actually kind of skeptical about writing about it since the story did seem to go viral, but there may be a few you who still haven't read about this story yet, and that's where I come in. So, my question is to the ladies reading this blog right now, but men can answer too. Has there ever been a time when you were out at a bar and you wanted the annoying, strange guy to just leave you alone? Well, apparently, China's got a cure for that. They are hairy stockings! These hairy fashion accessories, which are sold in China, are said to be an unconventional tool to help ward off unwanted attention. I think unconventional is an understatement. I think it's just downright weird!

HappyZhangJiang posted on the Chinese Twitter site, Sina Weibo: "Super Sexy, summertime anti-pervert full-leg-of-hair stockings, essential for all young girls going out." Then there was a photo posted of what appeared to be a woman wearing the supposed hairy stockings, which has since gone viral, but not word yet on where exactly someone can purchase these leggings. The photo literally almost made me vomit when I saw it and if it made me feel like that, then the stockings are actually doing its job. I wonder if their legs will get sweaty and gross underneath those stockings too. Also, what if it starts raining and the hair gets soaked? Do the girl's legs get weighed down? I have to admit that the photo looks like a man's legs, but the feet do look somewhat feminine. Either way, Chinese people are nuts! Girls here in America are extremely vain, so I doubt this will sell here in the States.

A Shanghai-based blog site offered a series of other Sina Weibo posts about the tights and one user said that emulating Sasquatch could have its drawbacks and wrote: "This will not only prevent against perverts, it will definitely also result in preventing handsome guys from approaching you." They're right! These hairy leg stockings would be a "no-go" in my book, but who knows? Perverts come in all shapes and sizes and mentalities. There might be a perv out there who is into hair legs. As I wrote that, I felt a hairball literally get stuck in my throat! This is just more proof that the Chinese will do anything to make a buck! Maybe we should take a lesson from them!

WHERE IS THE JUSTICE?

What would you do if you found four young boys vandalizing your house? You'd probably be pretty pissed off and want to strangle the boys if you caught them, right? So, was Jesse Daniels of Clyde, NY, wrong for what he did? Daniels is now facing jail time after he caught a group of vandals destroying a home he was renovating and then locked them in a closet until police arrived. So, what did he do wrong? It seems to me that he was protecting his property.

Daniels caught the four boys trashing the house next to his home on Orchard Street after he heard banging noises at around 9 pm Saturday. The vandalized house was empty and Daniels had spent years renovating it for his father-in-law, Richard Muoio. After hearing the noises, he went over to the house to see what the noises were and he found four boys, ages 8 and 10, smashing walls, windows and fixtures with hammers. Derogatory words for women were also sprayed painted on the walls. An infuriated Daniels said, "One person was sitting on the floor and the other ones were swinging, just swinging crazy!"

Daniels went on to say that he grabbed one hammer and told the boys to put their hammers down. He said he was also fortunate enough that the boys were in the room that had a closet, so he put them in until the police arrived and arrested the boys. They were charged with burglary and criminal mischief. But here's the kicker; now the boys' parents are saying that Daniels threatened their sons, shoved them and even grabbed one of them by the throat. Paul Bowler, the father of two of the little goons, showed a local news channel a photo of red marks on his son's neck. Bowler says, "They're traumatized. They haven't been to school and they don't sleep until the sun comes up." Oh, boo hoo! Did you see the damage your sons did to Daniels house? I think the way Daniels reacted was justified. If anyone should go to jail, it should be Bowler (the father of the boys) for neglecting his kids and allowing them to go out into the neighborhood with hammers and vandalizing a house. If they weren't out doing that, then they wouldn't have been so traumatized.

Daniels has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and is due back in court later this month. He estimated that the little brats caused about $40,000 worth of damage to the home, but he's the one who might face jail time! I think the parents of these boys are lucky their kids are still alive because I could care less that they were 8 or 10, I would've given them the beating of a lifetime if I caught them vandalizing my home. In fact, the parents should be paying for the house to be repaired rather than playing the victims here. Where is the justice here? A guy gets his house smashed in, he takes matters into his own hands until police arrive, and he might go to jail for it? Does that make any sense to anyone? According to police, the rampage started because the boys were angry that Daniels' wife had told them to stay out of her yard earlier that day. Oh, that's a good reason to vandalize someone's home! Daniels claims that he was just trying to protect his family and that he was sick to his stomach and a nervous wreck over this and he just did what he thought was the right thing. I think he did the right thing and he should not be punished for it. If he sees any jail time for this at all, there is no justice in the justice system! If the parents of the boys end up paying for damages, then I might have faith in it again. I could care less that the boys are traumatized! They are 8 and 10! Mind your children then! This is an atrocity.

ANYONE NEED A BABYSITTER?

With all of the teacher/student sex going on, I found this story extremely disturbing! So, this is 21-year-old Megan Nicole Hayes from Rockledge, Florida. She was recently arrested for allegedly having sex with an 11-year-old boy she was hired to babysit. Hayes was arrested on Thursday on felony charges for the sexual battery of a child under the age of 12. According to her father, though, Hayes is said to be intellectually challenged and does not know right from wrong. He later informed the media that his family was not interested in addressing them anymore. Okay, what the hell? So, you let a girl who is intellectually challenged go out and babysit? As parents, shouldn't you have kept a better on her and maybe steered her away from babysitting anyone's children?

The Cocoa Police Department says that Hayes did confess to the sexual abuse which occurred on May 27 in the coastal city of Cocoa. Hayes is currently being held without bond at the Brevard County Jail. According to court records, Hayes is no stranger to county lockup, though because back in February she was locked up for credit card fraud and petty theft charges. This investigation is ongoing.

Okay, here's my take...Why? First of all, to the parents of the 11-year-old child, shame on you for not doing a background check on this girl. Her criminal record would have come up immediately and wouldn't you think that your child's well-being would be safer with a background check? As for Miss Hayes, it sounds like jail might be the best place for you. How could you think that you were capable of babysitting any child? It sounds to me someone has some serious psychological issues and really shouldn't be around people in general. And seriously, Miss Hayes? An 11-year-old? That is absolutely disgusting! What can you possibly do to an 11-year-old to even remotely turn them on? I thought this story was truly disturbing and this girl needs to stay locked away for society's sake.

THE $10 ENGAGEMENT RING

Have you ever sold something at a garage sale for dirt cheap not realizing that something valuable was stowed away in the box? Well, that's what happened to Racquel Cloutier, of Laguna Niguel, California. It turns out, while Racquel was in the hospital, her husband, Eric, accidentally sold her $23,000 diamond wedding ring on accident when he sold one of his watches for only $10 at a garage sale. He didn't realize that she'd hidden her ring in his watch box. What a bonehead! I mean both of them! Who does that? Why would you hide your $23k wedding ring in a box? Buy a safe! And as far as the husband goes, did you seriously sell that box without thoroughly checking every corner of it to make sure there were no extras? Maybe I have OCD like that and need to check everything before I sell it.

Anyway, I know what you're asking; why was Racquel in the hospital in the first place. Well, she was giving birth to the couple's fifth child. What the hell? And I thought my sister had a lot with her pack of four. The devastated couple is now hoping that the buyer will be honest enough to come forward and return the ring. To be honest, I bet that ring has been pawned off and is already long gone! There is no way that if someone found that ring in a $10 watch box, are they returning it, especially, if they knew how much it was worth! I wouldn't expect it back if this happened to me, but I would be just as mortified!

Racquel said that she was still in the hospital when her husband decided to clear out the clutter from their home with a garage sale. She says, "He didn't know that before I went to the hospital, I put my ring in that box. I wanted the ring to be in a safe place and out of reach from my 2-year-old twins." Um, hello? There is such a thing called a safe. They keep things safe! Especially, jewelry! And that's another gripe that I have about this story; why would the husband take it upon himself to have a garage sale while she was in the hospital? Isn't that something you do together? Anyway, on her return from the hospital on June 5, she realized the box was missing and soon found out it had been sold for $10 at the garage sale. She remembered screaming, "You sold it? What do you mean you sold it?" and immediately started crying. Racquel, who is still really upset, is throwing herself at the mercy of the buyer.

If the buyer hasn't come back already? Kiss that ring good bye! I can't even put the blame solely on the husband. Yes, it's his stupidity for selling that watch box for $10, but he had no clue she hid the ring in there. Maybe it might have been a good idea to communicate with your husband, Racquel and tell him, "Hey, just so you know, I'm leaving my ring in your watch box." And how safe is it to leave it in a watch box? What a dumb place to keep it safe! These two were made for each other! They're two idiots! Bye bye wedding ring! Bye bye $23,000!
