This
story made the front page of one NYC paper, and normally I don't write about
front page stories, but this one bothered me so much. It turns out; this
drug addict douchebag on your left from Queens, NY, who has a pretty long rap
sheet and a tiny record of achievements, murdered his mother and father in two
separate attacks a little over a year apart. These murders were ultimately
recently solved through biological evidence found under the parents'
fingernails. In other words, the DNA that his parents gave him ended up getting
him in the end!
36-year-old,
Gregory Cucchiara is set to be arraigned tomorrow (12/12) for beating and
drowning his mother, Josephine, back in May 2011, and then smothering his
father, Carmelo, with a pillow this past August. Cucchiara was quietly arrested
on November 13 and was being held without bail on Rikers Island. He denied any role
in his parents' death and even had the balls to attend their wakes. This guy is
a piece of work! Cucchiara's DNA was found under the nails of Josephine and
Carmelo, which was evidence that they fought back as they were being
killed.
Cucchiara's
motive is still unclear, but his sister did mention that her drug abusing
brother often fought about money with his parents, who ran successful
businesses and built their dream house in Bayside, Queens. His sister went on
to say that her parents always tried to help him and that even though it's
impossible to help someone who doesn't want to be helped, he was their son and
they didn't want to see him homeless. Hearing this statement alone makes
Gregory Cucchiara a bigger douchebag that I originally thought he was. He had
parents that gave him everything and probably only wanted the best for him, so
he decided to take their lives. I think I want to kill him! What an idiot! He
deserves any punishment coming to him.
Cucchiara
killed his mother on May 25, 2011 in the family's Bayside palace. Carmelo found
her body in the bathroom, kneeling on the floor, with her head submerged
underwater in the bathtub. Cucchiara denied killing her and in fact, claimed
that he tried to save her by giver her CPR. Is this guy for real? Carmelo
thought his son was the killer all along, and he moved immediately to keep his
distance from his son. He stayed in the basement apartment of an Astoria
building where his daughter lived upstairs. Then on August 20, Cucchiara's
sister found their father dead in his bedroom. As with his mother's death,
Cucchiara claimed innocence. He flipped during questioning, underwent a
psychiatric observation, and was quickly released. He was free up until early
last month.
Cucchiara's
lawyer says that he will plead not guilty. Seriously? Bayside neighbors
described Cucchiara as a polite neighbor, but a problem child. His sister
claims that his substance abuse destroyed their family. Doesn't it always,
though? I just can't get over the fact that this guy's parents would've given
him anything he wanted. All he had to do was stay clean and possibly take over
the family businesses, which could've been lucrative for him. At the age of 36,
wouldn't you be addicted to making money than addicted to drugs? It pisses me
off to see someone who grew up with everything and whose parents were willing
to give them everything, but they choose another path. I just don't get it! My
heart really goes out to the parents because I'm sure they were special people.
