No,
this is not a regular condom! Nor is it a sex toy, you sickos! This is actually
a prototype for an anti-rape female condom, which was unveiled back in 2005 by
Sonnet Ehlers, a former medical technician in South Africa (the rape capital of
the world).
The
device, which was originally called RapeX, was basically a female condom with
teeth lining the inside that work just like the protective spikes in a garage.
I'm literally squirming in my chair as I write this. In other words, you're
more than welcome to 'enter', but you're not going to want to back out. If you
do, I actually don't want to think about what would happen when you back out.
The teeth in the condom are angled so that they allow penetration, but bite
like a shark as the penis is removed; supposedly causing so much pain that it
will give the woman a chance to escape. Miss Ehlers went on to say that the
device will need to be surgically removed at a hospital, which will lead to the
capture of the rapist. I think this invention is absolutely brilliant! The fact
that you see at least three or four rape stories in the news almost every
single day goes to show that this device is needed here in America as well.
Unfortunately, due to a conflict with the European Union's warning system with
a similar name, RapeX had to become Rape-aXe.
Now,
that was unveiled in 2005. This is 2013! Why isn't this product out on the
market yet? I bet that if you just showed any rapist just a photo of this
device, they would be giving rape a second thought. Rape-aXe looks painful.
Ehlers described her creation as sort of a tampon that protects you from being
raped. She said that you insert it like a tampon and in the occurrence of a
rape, the Rape-aXe hooks onto the rapist's foreskin, allowing the victim time
to escape. The device is made of latex and held firm by shafts of sharp barbs
that can only be removed from through surgery, which will alert hospital staff
and ultimately, the police. Ehlers said that once the Rape-aXe lodges on, only
a doctor can remove it. It will hurt so bad that the perpetrator won't be able
to pee or walk when it's on. If he tries to remove it, it will clasp even
tighter, however, it doesn't break the skin, and there's no danger of fluid
exposure.
Another
benefit of this anti-rape device is that it would reduce the risks of a woman
falling pregnant, contracting AIDS or any other sexually transmitted diseases
from the attacker by acting in the same way as a condom. Ehlers said that she
showed the prototype off to women, who tried it on for comfort, but it hadn't
been tested on a live man yet. They've tried it on a plastic male model and
that's been it. I would test it on a rape convict in prison. They want to rape
so badly, let them have a go at it.
I
think this product sounds great and would love to see it here in the U.S.
Here's the problem, though; what happens when rapists catch onto this and
instead of penetrating down there, they force women to give them oral with a
gun to their heads. Rape-aXe won't be able to stop that. Just saying!
