The
winner of this match and a new Classroom Brawl champion...Brian "Mad
Dog" Calhoun! Of course, I'm not really talking about a new WWE character.
This is Brian Calhoun. He's an instructor at Fresno City College in Fresno,
California. He's been put on paid administrative leave after getting into a
fight with a female student, whom he allegedly, now listen to this, body
slammed to the ground during the brawl! Yes, I said body slammed! I wish I was
kidding! It could've been worse. It could've been a suplex or an elbow drop
from the top of the desk. Seriously, why is this teacher even laying a hand on
a student? A female one, no less.
According
to a campus police report, 19-year-old, Kevynn Gomez said she cursed at Calhoun
before their March 22 brawl for it all because he was being rude to students
and a substitute teacher in her class. Wait a minute! Her name is Kevynn? Maybe
Calhoun thought that Kevynn was a guy named Kevin? Either way, he still
shouldn't be putting his hands on any students. Gomez said Calhoun grabbed her
arm and used his forearm to pin her neck against a wall, so she did what any
normal person in that position would do, she punched him in the face as hard as
she could. Out of pure anger from getting punched in the face, Calhoun then
lifted the 5-foot-3, 101 pound girl named Kevynn and body slammed her onto the
ground before students pulled him away from her. I'm sorry, I don't agree with
what Calhoun had done, but I totally, just got a visual as I was writing this
and I literally laughed out loud.
Anyway,
Calhoun was cited for misdemeanor battery and ordered to appear in court on
June 19. It doesn't seem that Kevynn was cited for her punch to the face
because at least six students and a substitute teacher supported her account of
the fight. Calhoun's attorney is stating that Kevynn (I'm sorry, the name
cracks me up!) started the fight, "This wouldn't have happened if she
hadn't lashed out!" Yeah, well, your client could've been a bit more
professional and just kicked her out of class rather than pinning her up
against the wall with his forearm, or at least put her in a sleeper hold. Kevynn's attorney disputed saying that
Calhoun attacked her client, "He was out of control." That's the
statement you can agree with. Then again, instead of lashing out at your
teacher for being rude, report him to the administration office. This whole
thing could've been avoided, but it wouldn't have been as funny! Vince McMahon
might have a new WWE manager right here in Fresno!
