Tase Me Out At The Ballgame

As if losing to the stinking New Jersey Jets wasn't bad enough, now Dallas Cowboys fans, like me, have something else to hang our heads in shame about. Apparently, 59-year-old Cowboys fan, Larry McKelvey, who also happens to be the father of Power 105 Morning Show Co-Host Charlamagne Tha God in New York City, stunned three belligerent Jets fans, one of them being a U.S. Marine, with his taser gun this past Sunday Night at the newly named Met Life Stadium in The Meadowlands. McKelvey claims that he used the taser gun to protect himself from suffering the same fate of San Francisco Giants fan, Brian Stow, who was beaten by a handful of Los Angeles Dodgers fans at the beginning of the baseball season. Stow is still going through surgeries, but he'll never be the same. (support4bryanstow.com)

According to witnesses, the taser incident began when McKelvey refused to stand during the singing of "National Anthem", and to make matters even worse, during the playing of "TAPS" and "Amazing Grace" to commemorate those who lost their lives on 9/11 ten years ago, McKelvey chose to speak very loudly on his cell phone, while the Jets fans in his row asked him to have some respect and be quiet. He chose to ignore everyone. McKelvey's son, Charlamagne Tha God, who's real name is Leonard McKelvey, claimed that his dad is  Jehovah's Witness and his religion forbids standing for the National Anthem. WHAT? My first reaction was 'What the hell does religion have to do with being an American?' Well, after doing some research (towerwatch.com), apparently, the Jehovah's Witnesses are not allowed to salute the flag of any nation, recite the pledge of allegiance, stand for or sing the national anthem, run for public office, vote, or serve in the armed forces. So what can they do? This religion obviously makes their followers the bottom feeders of society! I'm sorry, but not standing for the national anthem, not saluting the flag, and not reciting the pledge of allegiance, religious belief or not, is UN-AMERICAN! Having respect for the ground that you walk on or the rights that were given to you by our founding fathers has nothing to do with religion, and if you don't like or respect what you have in THIS country as an AMERICAN, get the f**k out!!!

To be quite honest, I'm sorry, Mr. McKelvey that you felt threatened, but you were the one who chose to go see "America's Team", the Dallas Cowboys, in an American stadium on a day that was very sentimental to Americans around the world, you chose to be UN-AMERICAN. Having freedom of religion is an American way of life, but to not respect being an American, I cannot tolerate because of the lives lost to make this country so great. Also, I don't think you'll ever see a Catholic, Christian, Protestant, or Jewish person ever disrespect American traditions the way Mr. McKelvey did. And those too are religions!

It was Mr. McKelvey's UN-AMERICAN actions that caused a U.S. Marine and his fellow Americans sitting around him to react the way that they did. Now, I wasn't there to witness, so I'm not really sure how Mr. McKelvey was bullied by the Jets fans, but this did not seem the case of Jets fans versus Cowboys fans, which was the case in the Brian Stow melee. This seemed more a case of Americans showing the love of their country. Did these fans touch Mr. McKelvey in any way? To my understanding, no they didn't. They just refused to get up and allow Mr. McKelvey through to go to the bathroom, which probably led to the physical altercation also leading to the stun gun, which brings me to my next point. How the hell did the taser gun get into Met Life Stadium with the heightened security in place? Former President Bush was in the house and it was the 10th Anniversary of 9/11. How did Mr. McKelvey get into the stadium with a weapon? Who the hell is Met Life Stadium hiring to handle their security? Because they should be embarrassed that this even happened and the head of security should be fired for endangering lives in the stadium, which leads me to my last blog about firing the lazy and hiring those who want to work, like me! See how it comes full circle?

Anyway, Charlamagne Tha God hit the airwaves of Power 105 in NYC to stick up for his dad and say that he had every right to protect himself if he felt endangered. Right! If he was on the streets maybe! This was at a sporting event, you a-hole! First of all, the taser gun should've been confiscated at the gate, so not your dad's fault. Secondly, your dad should learn to be more of an American if he's going to go to an American event like a football game because he is an American, is he not? If his religion won't allow him to stand for the National Anthem, maybe he should've taken a walk around the stadium during the events to avoid any Pro-American banter. This whole ordeal could've been avoided if the right choices were made, but your dad made a poor judgment and deserved to be punished for it. I highly doubt that those Jets fans would've harmed your father physically.

Bottom line is if you don't want to be an American and follow American traditions, then go the 'f**k' home. We don't need you hear walking on our land, taking up our space, and pocketing our hard earned money! Take your religion somewhere else!
