I love this story! It's turns out; an elderly British couple were quite surprised last weekend when police pointed out they'd been growing an enormous marijuana plant in their garden, which they are saying was by accident. The Bedfordshire police department discovered the couple's well-groomed plant and posted proof of the absurd situation via Twitter with a photo caption that read: "Seized today! Elderly couple bought shrub at a car boot sale, tended carefully-biggest plant we had seen!!"
The couple had been devotedly taking care of the plant while completely aloof of its potency, and it had grown to a monstrous size. A spokesperson for the police department told the BBC that the plant was taken into police custody and will be disposed of. In other words, the police have it and it will be distributed equally around the office for personal consumption.
The couple reportedly asked the police department to remove its Twitter post, but as of Tuesday, the post remained on the microblogging site. According to police, the plant owners face no charges, but do we really think that this older couple was unaware this was a pot plant. Is it possible that they are that dumb? Or did the police just snag their entire stash, and they're just playing dumb so they don't get busted? I guess we'll never know.
